“Mshindi” is a Swahili phrase, in a Gospel/Christian context translates to “Victor”, “Conqueror”, or “Overcomer” in English.
It is often used to describe:
- Jesus as the victorious one over sin and death.
- A believer who overcomes challenges through faith in Christ.
Example in a gospel song:
“Yesu ni Mshindi” → “Jesus is the Victor” / “Jesus is the Conqueror.”
“Sisi ni washindi” → “We are overcomers” / “We are victorious.”
