Jean Christian Irimbere – Birakumvira | Gospel Audio

“Birakumvira” is a word from the Kinyarwanda language spoken in
Rwanda and parts of Uganda and Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Meaning:
“Bira” = they / things
“Kumvira” = to obey / to listen / to submit
So “Birakumvira” literally means:
“They will obey you” or “Everything will listen to you.”

In a gospel song, Birakumvira expresses the authority and power given by God. It proclaims that when God speaks or when believers stand in faith:
  • Nature obeys God
  • Problems and obstacles must obey
  • Sickness and evil spirits must submit
  • Situations change because they obey God’s command
It reflects biblical ideas such as:
Mark 4:39 – even the wind and waves obey Jesus.
Luke 10:19 – authority over the power of the enemy.

Spiritual Message
In worship, singing “Birakumvira” declares that:
  • God’s voice has ultimate authority.
  • When God commands, everything must obey.
  • Believers trust that their circumstances will submit to God’s power.
 In Simple English sense:
“Everything will obey God.”
or
“All things must submit to His authority.”
